Family First… Even for Swingers

A couple weekends ago on February 3rd Hubby & I were going to host a Hair Metal Swinger Party at The Korral in Pennsylvania, one of the Swinger clubs we adore. Then life kicked. Hubby’s Dad called four days before the event at the Korral to say Hubby’s Mom had been admitted to the hospital & she was not doing well. We flew down the next morning. We did get to spend some time with Mom, but on the very night we were supposed to be hosting our own party several States away, Hubby’s Mom had a stroke. We were able to see her but she passed later the day of the 4th. Hubby was heartbroken but determined to stay with Dad a few more days to help him get his bearings back.

Were we upset we missed our own event?  Not really. We did feel like we let some people down since we couldn’t find anyone that was able to represent Swing! the evening at the club.  But, the Korral owners took care of everyone from what we have been told & hopefully people had a good time. Family is more important than a party. Swinging is just a hobby for us.

We are going to a Meet & Greet hosted by some friends this Friday night in Alexandria, VA.  They call themselves “The Unicorn Squad” since it is three single women hosting the M&G. Swingers call single women in the Lifestyle “Unicorns” because they are supposed to be so hard to find.  Who knew there was a herd of them near Washington, D.C.?  We need this night out.

One day, we’ll have to do another Hair Metal themed event again though.  Hubby already bought the cheetah print leggings and the 10 inch lifelike dildo he was going to put in his pants because we all know rock stars are packing some serious cock.  LOL

3somer… “it’s a magic number”

Over the weekend we headed into Washington, DC, to host an event at a Swingers Club and we got talking about how difficult to navigate the usual lifestyle sites are on a cell phone. They all have their quirks that just don’t make them work as well on a mobile platform. Recently, however, we have started to give an app a try that we have so far found to be pretty intuitive & easy to use: 3somer.

Downloading 3somer was free & easy. It’s available in the iTunes Store & Google Play.

The app is secured with a pattern recognition lock which, especially for a couple, can make it easier to remember than a password.

Setting up a free account was quick & actually fun. Yes, they ask you to write a little bit about yourself, but to help you find who you are looking for they ask you a series of interesting multiple-choice personality questions like, “How important is it for a partner to smell good?”, “Do you have hobbies & outside interests?” and “How do you react to people that swear often?” Once we got through the preliminaries we uploaded a photo; we chose to keep ourselves discrete by cropping our faces in the photo strategically.  There are private photo galleries that you can upload more “open” photos to that only those you have granted access will be able to see.  The set-up all-in-all was pretty quick & painless.

The 3somer interface itself is clean & uncluttered.  Unlike some apps, icons are labelled to help you understand what they mean; there are no worries about clicking on something by mistake & pinging that guy you were trying to skip.

“Liking” someone can’t be any easier, you have the option of clicking a ❤️ which then asks if you would like to send a chat request or “continue playing.” Swiping right does the same thing & makes things move quickly.  Swiping left or clicking the   tells 3somer you don’t feel like there is a match & the app moves you on to the new profile. If the other profile has marked you as one they like as well, you get a notification that “it’s a match!”

What we REALLY like, even though it is called 3somer, you aren’t just limited to looking up singles as a couple & singles aren’t limited to just searching couples either. Couples can search couples and singles and there are multiple options to search for as well.  You can search for singles males, single females, Couples (FM), Couples (FF), Couples (MM), & TS/TG/TV members. The app works quite well in that respect. Most of our matches are from other couples; anyone following Swing! knows couples are right up our alley.  😜

One area where 3somer is still improving is the number of members. Yes, we did get to view many, many profiles in our area but a few with similar interests that came up as matches were many States away. This of course will change as more & more people try out 3somer.

All-in-all we really like 3somer, the design is clean and easy to use.  The app doesn’t have any glitches, lock-ups or slowdowns from our experience.  We found many matches within our 100 mile radius, considering we live in a small town but we are 50 miles from Washington, D.C., that was pretty impressive. We’ll keep using 3somer it looks like it will work for our needs.

Swing! is back…

Really, we never went anywhere, life just got in the way. Kids going back to school. Weddings galore. Hubby had a traumatic back injury… You know: life. Anywho, we are back with another event at Shadows Social Club in Hyattsville, MD, THIS Saturday, January 13th! Gulp… Well to sort of follow with the theme of what we’ve been doing out here on the east coast freezing our asses off for the last few weeks, we are gonna have a pajama party! Yes, you can wear your pajamas all day & night yet again AND leave the house for a change. Whoo-hoo!

I’ll just be glad to get out of the house & maybe we’ll find some new friends to fuck.

Are we too picky?

Let me preface this with “WE ARE NOT KEN & BARBIE.”  You’ll see that phrase a lot when you go on a Swinger Lifestyle sites like SwingLifestyle, Kasidie, Quiver, Swingers Date Club or SwingTowns. But in this case I am actually talking about us. Hubby & I are comfortably in our 40s.  I’m closer to 40 while Hubby is closing in on 50.  We both have a few extra pounds but we are both trying to shed a few. Why do I bring this up?  Just to let you know we aren’t 30-something Swingers with rock-hard abs & even my boobs are still my originals too.  LOL

While we do love meeting new people, not everyone we meet is someone we want to play with. We pretty much assume everyone else is like this as well. We don’t take offense if someone isn’t interested in us. We aren’t everyone else’s cup of tea either. When we first started Swinging a few years ago, I was in my early-30s & Hubby had just hit 40 himself.  Back then we were a pretty hot property.  Apparently we were young enough that we piqued the interest of many more Swingers than we do now. Now, things have changed somewhat.  We play less, but we are more selective. Appearances are not always the driving factor for us, we usually prefer if there is that “connection” with another couple/single before we become interested in fucking them.

Age can be a deciding factor for us. Lately, and I’m not sure why, we have been getting more contacts from Swingers in their late 60s. Some are as much as 20 years older than Hubby and that puts them pert-near 70 years old.  While we are getting older, Hubby & I aren’t quite ready to go there yet.  So far the biggest age difference for us with playmates has been we played wth a 23 year-old couple when Hubby was 43 and we played with a 55 year-old couple (she looked like Ginger Grant in her prime from Gilligan’s Island) when I was 37.  However, those couples were a good fit for us at the time though so the age differences didn’t matter.  We just had sexy fun times fucking. But frankly, we haven’t found anyone we have been attracted to that is 20 years older than Hubby or even 20 years older than me for that matter. Yes, age is just a number, but there has to be that connection too. That doesn’t mean I am saying “don’t contact us if you are old.” It just means, don’t be offended if we say “thank you, but we feel we aren’t really compatible.”

You be fair & polite with us & we will do the same for you. After all, “We aren’t Ken & Barbie.”

CANDY LAND: Big Party with SOS, Swing! & TPA

At Swing! we usually don’t consider ourselves prone to hyperbole.  We generally don’t claim that our events & parties are “EPIC!” or “YUGE!”.  Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had some pretty impressive events; at one of our events the club ran out non-disclosure forms for new members. (Most Swingers clubs require some sort of privacy agreement.) But when we do have something turn out that way, we are just as pleasantly surprised by the turnout. A massive attendance is not our primary goal. Honestly, we just want to have fun.  If that means 400 or 14 show up we do our best to make things fun.

Why do I bring this up? We are co-hosting CANDY LAND this Saturday, August 5th, 2017, with Swing Out Socials (SOS) & The Private Affair (TPA).

First, SOS… Swing Out Socials is another group in the Mid-Atlantic region like us, Swing!. The difference, SOS has been organizing Swinger parties & events for at least NINE YEARS. In that time, SOS has built up a significant following because they organize excellent events and are very inclusive & friendly (we are too, BTW). They have no limits on age except you must be legal for the venues (mostly 21 years or older), they have no racial requirements, no height or weight requirements (neither do we)….  SOS has been so successful because they are so welcoming, friendly & inclusive. They had an event at another club earlier this year where the club actually reached capacity & people who hadn’t made reservations could not get in.  That was over 400 people! Needless to say, when I say an SOS event is monumental that is NOT hyperbole.

Now, what about The Private Affair (TPA)?  TPA is in Port Deposit, MD, and has been open over SEVENTEEN YEARS. TPA seems to be the best kept secret when it comes to Swinger Lifestyle clubs in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. region though. The last couple of years they are finally starting to get the recognition they deserve. One thing that is amazing about TPA is their attention to detail, every room is themed & immaculately clean.  No rooms are just a bed with a light, every single room is decorated differently. You may be thinking “so what?” Well, last year when our friends at Quiver came up to co-host our Beach Blanket Bingo! party, they/we got a private tour before the club opened.  The Quiver folks were very impressed.  Coming from Texas they had been to numerous clubs throughout the U.S.. When one of them asked our tour guide how large TPA is he replied, “We have 27 playrooms.  Well, 26 right now as we are remodeling one room & it’s closed.”

Quiver said, “The most number of playrooms we have seen at a club anywhere was 20!”

Our guide replied with a smile, “Really?  That is interesting!”

So, not only do they have A LOT of playrooms, but they are all clean & themed to keep things interesting & fun. TPA also keeps things fresh by updating their main room, dance floor & bar area. The staff is friendly and helpful and the owners are always eager to find out what you think about the club & what they can do to improve. We have never had to wait long to get served at the bar as they are always well-staffed. Another club in the region may get voted the best East Coast Club in the U.S. in the Annual Lifestyle Awards but, if you actually attend the “winner’s” club and TPA you will see, there is NO comparison… TPA wins hands down.

CANDY LAND with Swing Out Socials & Swing! at The Private Affair, august 5th, 2017.

So, this is where we stand for this Saturday, August 5th.  We are co-hosting an event with one of largest, friendliest groups that you will ever meet at one of the friendliest & classiest Swingers clubs with an amazing array of playrooms & amenities. The potential for this Swinger soirée is quite possibly going to be EPI… (Nope, no hyperbole today.) We’ll just see how it goes.

Meet & Greet Fun with MISCHIEF XXXmas in July!

People NOT currently in the Swinger Lifestyle seem to have this impression that it’s all people getting together & fucking right then & there no matter who or where they are.  That’s not how a Meet & Greet works.  Swinger Meet & Greets are usually held in “Vanilla” (Swinger term for non-Swinger) Bars or Clubs.  Meet & Greets are a great way for meeting new people in the Lifestyle without feeling pressured to go & play.  Let’s face it, not everyone is interested in playing with everyone & Meet & Greets give you a chance to get to know people in a neutral setting. Many of our Swinger friends we just like to hang out with, we don’t always intend to fuck all of them, some are just good friends we can be ourselves around.

The thing about Meet & Greets is they can sometimes be difficult to arrange. Many venues get a little nervous when you ask them if they would be willing to host a Swingers’ event even when on-premise play would not be allowed.  Once you find that bar or club that says “yes, have your party here,”  you never want to let them go.  They are doing a huge favor to the Swinger community by hosting those events for us.

So, where is this heading?  LOL  We have some friends, Mischief Social Club, hosting a Meet & Greet this weekend at The Lodge in Boonsboro, MD and we want it to be as successful as possible for Mischief & the Lodge because we all win if there is a successful regularly scheduled Meet & Greet in the area.

If you have ever been curious about Swinging, a Meet & Greet is the event to attend.  You can meet others in the Lifestyle without the pressure to play.  Once you meet “us” (Swingers), you will find, we are just like you.  Just a LOT more fun.

Here’s the details from Mischief for their Meet & Greet:

Life happens…

Well, we were supposed to have the most awesome Pin-Up event ever on June 17th at the Badd Kitty Club in Feredonia, NY, but, life happens.  Originally we had planned to have Ginger Snap from doing free Pin-up photos; live music by The Irving Klaws & the rest of the evening’s entertainment by DJ Kurve. Ginger had a family emergency & had to cancel.  The club asked if we could reschedule for later this summer but Swing! is booked with other events through November of 2017. The club felt that without the Pin-up photographer that the event just wasn’t going to work out so they cancelled.  *sigh*

On the plus side, now we have a really awesome event banner we can hang up in our play-room.

A great time at Shadows in D.C.

red grunge textureWell, the first big event for Swing! at Shadows finally came this last Saturday and WOW did it exceed our expectations.  We thought maybe 100 people might come to the event at Shadows on 4/22.  Instead it as well over 230 people!

The Shadows staff did an amazing job getting people checked in, giving tours & working the bar in an efficient manner.

Our own DJ Kurve played a mix of 90’s hits and current hits that kept the place hopping.

At one point we wondered where everyone went.  A little peek back in the main play areas & we knew… a massive orgy had broken out with at least 20 if not 30 people participating.  What an amazingly beautiful sight.

We can’t wait to head back to Shadows for another go round!

Swinger Pet Peeve

Swingers are people… obviously.  Being people, that means Swingers are just as likely to exhibit behaviors that others find disconcerting. One of our biggest pet peeves are the notorious Lifestyle “Time Wasters”. If you’ve been on a Swinger site before you have probably read in at least one online profile “No Time Wasters” that is how much of a problem they can be.

What is a Time Waster? They are the type that send endless emails back & forth often very flattering or asking numerous questions. They will will often suggest getting together in a somewhat vague way but there will almost never be concrete plans. When there are plans, that’s when they show their true-colors. A true Time Waster that makes plans will almost always have “something come up” and they will have to cancel. That’s if you are lucky, the worst type won’t even cancel, they will just sort of go dark when it comes to communication and just not show up.

Even couples that have been Swinging as long as we have are not immune to Time Wasters. Case in point, a friend of ours said they wanted to have a house party to celebrate my Hubby’s birthday coming up. The last we had heard from them was 2 weeks ago she said she was off of work the next day and she was going to send out invites. This weekend we messaged her asking how the invites were going. Her response, they decided not to do the party because something came up. We kind of knew this was a possibility with them, the Wife of the couple tends to talk about big plans with us but in all the years we have known them she has yet to follow through. When we do get together with them it is because we made the plans or invited them over to our house.

When it was suggested it would have been nice if they had let us know they are cancelling the birthday party, her reply was, “we didn’t think you would notice.”  😮

Wow!  They know we have a young child, they know we had to get a sitter for the night.  Hell, their kid has sat for us before and yet that never even occurred to her.

So, we cancelled the sitter and messaged her, “We cancelled the sitter. Next time please let us know when you are cancelling.” Of course, we don’t plan on letting there be a next time with them. Lesson learned… again.

DC, there’s a new Swingers’ Club in town!

The Swinger community, no matter where you live, is well-known for being pretty tight-knit. Reputations can be made and ruined by good or bad word of mouth. That’s why it came as a surprise to us that there was a new Swingers’ Club that opened in our general area:  Shadows, in Hyattsville, MD.

Really, there is no shortage of Lifestyle clubs in our general area; TJs, DJs Island, The Cottage, The Korral, TABU, The Private Affair (TPA) are all within a couple hours drive of our home. Add to that The Crucible & Studio 58, two Swinger-friendly on-premise play clubs both looking for new locations, and we live in an area dotted with sex-positive, members-only venues where you can dance, have some BYOB cocktails and get your freak on with whomever & however many you want in an environment full of like-minded people. That’s why it was a sudden pleasant surprise that we first ran across Shadows on SwingTowns.

We noted that this Saturday, February 25, 2017, is their Masquerade party so we plan on checking them out.  We know what we really like about clubs; TPA, The Korral & The Badd Kitty Club in Fredonia, NY, all have a great vibe and have moved beyond the old days of the VFW-looking bar with Grandma’s spare room as the playrooms. But, we know nothing of Shadows however, we are walking in sight-unseen.  It is members only & BYOB as are other Swingers’ Clubs (that’s how they are all allowed to serve alcohol without liquor licenses. ) Other than that, we don’t know what the rest of the facilities are like, we assume there is a dance floor & bar for obvious reasons. But are there separate playrooms and, if so, how many? Unlike most clubs, they are open until 3am.

In a conversation with another friend, I mentioned that Shadows’ website says, Shadows is a very upscale lifestyle member’s only – private club with more 5,000 square feet of pure fun. Shadows is your ideal private club with everything you are looking for. Our recreational area has comfortable, plush, and comfy seating areas, a great dance floor with hip/fun vibrant DJ music, lockers to store your personal items and a friendly personnel to make your visit an unforgettable one. Last but not least, we have sufficient parking spaces available. We are open from Thursday thru Sunday, and we close at 3:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.”  Of course she correctly stated the obvious, “all the clubs say they are upscale”.  LOL

So, we shall see this Saturday I guess. Wish us naughty, decadent, hedonistic luck. If it goes well, we may share.
